Dermal Fillers

Plump, Hydrate and Contour

What are Dermal Fillers?

  • Dermal fillers are gel-like substances which contain Hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring substance that is already found in your skin. Dermal Fillers are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours. The effects of dermal fillers can last anywhere between five months to two years. It depends on the product being used and where on the body the product is being injected.

  •  Our body can safely break  down dermal filler and absorb them. Combining dermal fillers with Botox can help maximize the duration of the result.

What are side effects of dermal filler?

  • Like any procedure, there are side effects that may be associated with dermal filler injections.

  • Upon injection, dermal fillers  can cause localized bruising, redness and swelling. As these effects tend to subside relatively quickly as the substance is absorbed by the body, it is thought that this side effect has no lasting consequences.

Can we reverse dermal filler?

  •  If you are unhappy with the results of your dermal fillers, you’re not stuck with the results forever.

  • Before considering having them reversed, there are a few things you should consider.

                   The filler will naturally fade

  • If you do not want to have the dermal filler dissolved, bare in mind that over time the filler will fade and your face will return to how it was prior to the injections.

      You can have corrective massages

  • We may be able to perform a massage on the filler in order to correct any lumps or change the position of the filler. While this will not remove any of the filler, it can successfully alter your appearance and smooth out any lumps.

              Dissolving dermal fillers

  • If you do not want to wait for the fillers to naturally fade, you may want to consider the option of having the fillers dissolved.  Fillers can be either completely or partially removed with a substance known as hyaluronidase. This will dissolve the hyaluronic acid particles. You can either have all of the filler removed, or have the amount of filler reduced if you feel too much was injected.
